As a Strategic Partnerships and Impact Manager, you will:
Develop and grow strategic partnerships with stakeholders across the health data community – including research organisations, charities, industry and policy influencers – to increase the profile, reach and impact of UPD's work.
Identify and develop sponsorship, commissioned work and other income-generating opportunities that support UPD's long-term sustainability.
Develop and deliver shared events, practical resources and learning opportunities that help organisations apply evidence about public attitudes to their decisions and practice, while avoiding duplication and extending the reach of UPD’s support.
Convene organisations around shared challenges, coordinate collaborative projects and demonstrate how collective approaches can deliver greater value for the wider health data community.
Represent UPD externally, building trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and representing our evidence, resources and perspectives externally.
Work closely with colleagues across research, policy and communications to deliver shared priorities and organisational objectives.
About you
We would love to hear from you if you:
Have a strong interest in or an understanding of the health data landscape and experience of helping organisations use evidence about public attitudes and expectations to inform decisions and practice.
Have experience building and managing strategic partnerships that deliver shared goals and impact.
Can identify and develop new opportunities for collaboration, sponsorship, commissioned work or other forms of income generation.
Have experience turning evidence, insight or policy into practical resources, events, learning opportunities or other activities that support action.
Are a confident communicator and relationship-builder who thrives in a small, agile team.
About UPD
Understanding Patient Data (UPD) is an independent initiative, set up in 2016 to make the way health data is collected, used and shared more visible, understandable and trustworthy.
We provide clear, accessible information and resources to support public understanding and better conversations about data. At the same time, we work across the health and care system to shape policy and practice – using evidence, research and engagement to ensure data is used in ways that are transparent, fair, and aligned with public expectations.
By bringing people together and influencing how decisions about data are made, we help make sure that health data works in the best interests of patients, professionals and society.

UPD is hosted by the NHS Alliance.
