This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

As a Senior Policy Officer, you will: 

  • Support the delivery of member-informed influencing activity and respond quickly to emerging issues. 

  • Observe, analyse and describe policy developments and their implications for members and the NHS. 

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in other directorates and reflect wider NHS Alliance policy positions in content and activity. 

  • Draft policy content, such as reports, notes and briefings, and present work at internal meetings. 

  • Support delivery and scoping of funded projects, working with the commercial team when needed and provide administrative support where required. 

  • Support stakeholder and member engagement by preparing briefings, taking notes and sharing intelligence internally. Develop relationships with members and be comfortable working with senior NHS leaders. 

We would love to hear from you if you:  

  • Have knowledge of health policy and understand the basics of policymaking and legislative processes. 

  • Can contextualise and analyse policy developments and their implications for third parties. 

  • Have strong communication skills and are able to write succinctly, accurately, and in plain English. Can also present clearly and engage credibly with senior external figures. 

  • Have a proven ability to develop and manage effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to achieve policy and influencing objectives. 

  • Can demonstrate the ability to plan and execute projects effectively.
