We are the NHS Confederation, the voice of healthcare leaders.

As the only membership body for the whole healthcare system, we are uniquely placed to bring together, support and speak for leaders and organisations across the sector. We join the dots between different parts of the health and care system; we understand the challenges our members face.

Building relationships with industry is a key way we help our members and inform our work. Partnerships can help the NHS get up stream, adopt technology, work differently and achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness in a challenging time. We are good at this; we are ambitious and want to get even better.

We have a great opportunity for someone with a wealth of understanding of the health policy landscape to help us maintain and build new strategic partnerships. If that’s you, read on.

About the role

This role works with policy and communications colleagues across the organisation to translate policy insights into programmes that the NHS Confederation delivers with commercial partners such as Google Health and AstraZeneca.

As the Industry Engagement and Policy Manager, you will:

  • Utilise your strong background in health policy to ensure our partnership work remains relevant and valuable for our members.
  • Design and deliver a broad portfolio of policy and engagement programmes with commercial partners and NHS members.
  • Develop content for major events – most notably NHS ConfedExpo, our flagship event co-delivered with NHS England.
  • Work with the Head of Industry Engagement and Policy to drive engagement with a range of commercial partners while ensuring alignment with our strategic policy priorities and the needs of our members.
  • Account manage a number of partnerships, and also work with the Head of the team to develop a pipeline of new partners.

This is a unique opportunity to influence healthcare by bringing together the NHS Confederation’s voice and our diverse commercial network’s expertise – all for the benefit of our members. We are investing in an ambitious future for the NHS Confederation. If you have the same ambition, we would love to hear from you.

About you

We are seeking an innovative and proactive manager with a background in health policy, public affairs or stakeholder engagement.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Use their health policy knowledge to design new products that help our members improve, whilst also funding our work on their behalf.
  • Have a track record of designing and delivering programmes of work – ideally with clients or partners.
  • Be comfortable working closely with senior stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Understand how to align strategic priorities between commercial partners and a mission-led organisation like the NHS Confederation, ensuring mutual value and impact.
  • Be comfortable working in a small team as part of a matrix-style organisation.
  • Be able to think strategically, communicate clearly and work effectively across teams with varying priorities.
