We are the NHS Confederation, the voice of healthcare leaders.

As the only membership body for the whole healthcare system, we are uniquely placed to bring together, support and speak for leaders and organisations across the sector. We join the dots between different parts of the health and care system; we understand the challenges our members face.

Building relationships with industry is a key way we help our members and inform our work. Partnerships can help the NHS get up stream, adopt technology, work differently and achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness in a challenging time. We are good at this; we are ambitious and want to get even better. Therefore, we are expanding our Industry Engagement & Policy team to support this, with a new Head of role.

We have a great opportunity for some someone with a wealth of understanding of the health policy landscape, to apply this to help us maintain and build new commercial partnerships, create new products and support our programme events

If that’s you, read on.

About the role

As the Head of Industry Engagement & Policy, you will:

  • account manage relationships with our partners - some of the biggest companies working with the NHS, including Google Health, Microsoft, Boehringer Ingelheim, Novartis, Accenture and many more.
  • manage a team to use insights from these relationships to design new commercial offers, and help shape the programme for NHS ConfedExpo, our major event for NHS leaders, which we deliver in partnership with NHS England.

You’ll also constantly look to build our pipeline of new partners, enabling us to grow our income and fund our work to support our members.

About you

You will be an innovative, creative and opportunistic manager, with excellent commercial and relationship management skills.

You will thrive on collaborative working with senior leaders across our organisation, understanding our influencing and impact goals and the challenges facing our members. You’ll use this knowledge to design new products that help our members improve, whilst also funding our work on their behalf.

You will be an experienced manager, working with a small but dynamic team – we want you to build their skills, helping them achieve their personal ambitions, as they help us achieve the organisation’s aims to expand and grow.

This is a new post – we are investing in an ambitious future for the Confederation. If you have the same ambition, we would love to hear from you.
