We are looking for an assistant director to join our high performing development and employment team. You will have specific responsibility to lead DoOD, building on the strong foundations in place to ensure DoOD continues to provide leading organisational development support to help employers meet current challenges and adapt to future needs.  

About the Role

As an Assistant Director in the DoOD team you will:

  • engage with OD professionals to build and deliver the programme content as well as reach out globally to bring the latest thinking and evidence to provoke and stimulate ideas to be used in the NHS.
  • provides support to NHS OD professionals across England to help them develop their practice, promote good employment practice and in turn make a difference to the patients our employers serve.

As a member of the development and employment senior team you will help to ensure the success of the whole directorate and that it remains a place where colleagues want to work. You will also work with peers and directors to ensure the offer NHS Employers provides to NHS organisations is relevant, timely and impactful.

About you

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • Senior level experience in creating and delivering OD development for HR and OD professionals in the NHS
  • Knowledge of leading edge OD practice
  • Skills and experience in producing relevant and impactful content and resources for practitioners to use
  • Experience of managing people and working as part of a senior team to ensure wider team and organisational effectiveness.
