About the role

As pensions programme manager, you will manage and lead the delivery of the pensions work programme within the pensions and reward team.

Our pension programme work focusses on supporting national discussions on pension reform and helping employers to communicate and implement changes in policy. We provide expert advice to employers on issues relating to pensions and reward and help employers to develop and communicate their approach to reward to support retention, attraction and staff engagement. The role will include

  • Working closely with all team members on pension and reward activities, planning and communicating effectively to support the delivery of programme objectives.
  • Overseeing the provision of meeting secretariat support to the NHS Pension Scheme – Scheme Advisory Board (SAB) to help SAB perform its role smoothly and effectively.
  • Supporting national discussions around scheme reform and pension policy.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to employers in the NHS on matters relating to reward and the NHS Pension Scheme and to national stakeholders including NHS England and DHSC.
  • Proactively engage with employers and other stakeholders to understand their views and needs and support them to develop their approach to pensions and reward.

About you

We would love to hear from you if you: 

  • Have practical experience in providing expert advice on pension related issues.
  • Experience in programme development and management.
  • Are able to demonstrate the ability to advise and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Can demonstrate effective verbal, written and presentation skills when conveying complex information to a range of audiences.
